Party Like a Rock Star

The young men came over for another game night/sleepover last night. We love having these and finally remembered to get a group shot before everyone went home this morning.

Back: Hyrum, Chris, Eugene, Craig, Vian, Kenny, Kadhafi
Middle: Brad, Bernard, Emmanuel, Nik, Enoch
Front: Isaiah
Not pictured: Jason (AKA "Presidente"), Matt and Ashley (kudos for staying over!), Chuck, Bishopbric Berkley, Mer and Tan Man

As with all good parties, this one always starts with food. We had the traditional take-out pizza, home-made thai curry and teriyaki chicken meal. Yummy.

You may be wondering what these peppers have to do with the sleepover. These hot puppies are from our garden and are the very heart and soul of the "hot pepper challenge." Still lost? Witness their destructive powers below...

Vian on pepper #1 - you can't make this stuff up

Emmanuel recovering outside with milk and later bread, more milk, bread, etc.
-
After food, down to the basement where all the action happens.

A highlight from this sleepover was GUITAR HERO on the Wii (compliments of the Matt and Ashley, who by the way are PROS at this game). These boys "partied like rock stars"on those guitars all night long.
-
Then, as the night progressed and long after the pregnant lady went to sleep upstairs, the boys started to drift off... and the dogs too

-
Unfortunately no sleep last night for the leaders, but they're catching up now.

Until next time!

Just a little excited

With only 12 days left, we are on serious count down to baby. I've spent a good 8 1/2 + months carrying this guy around with me 24/7 and I think he and I are in agreement that IT'S TIME FOR HIM TO COME OUT! I'm putting my money on a Monday (Labor Day) delivery. Wouldn't that be funny/ironic? And then that Alanis Morrisette song come to mind... okay, ADD moment.

Here's what I've been up to lately...

Me (super pregnant) as of today
My new favorite room in the house

This is what I do for hours - wash and organize everything in baskets and drawers
I love this picture from IKEA and finally decided where to hang it. Now I just need to talk Craig into fixing the bottom and hanging it for me. :)

I am so excited about this video baby monitor I got from work... still need to take it out of the box and play with it
Books and toys - how very appropriate that Rita is in the picture. She knows the toys aren't hers and she can't touch, but still loves sniffing everything in the baskets every morning.
I'm feeling all ready. As ready as one can be at least. Now I just need a baby!!

Baby Bash

At the risk of sounding cheesy - I must say - I love my job! Not only do I enjoy accounting (my work work), but I love the people I work with. "The girls" are so nice and threw a baby luncheon/shower for me on the 12th. They even ordered in Pei Wei for me and found the most beautiful little cheesecakes (special thanks to Becky and Karen for planning everything). I'm a little slow at getting pictures up on the blog, but better late than never! Enjoy, and THANK YOU GRAHAM!!!

ROCK BAND!!!

So, I've been meaning to post these pics since we got back from Arizona. On our way home from Prescott, we got to spend some time with "the guys" -- aka Craig's old roommates from his college days at Rick's. These guys are a RIOT when you get them all in the same room (and their wives all happen to be SUPER cool too so I love hanging out with them). :) Anyway, we don't get to see them much since we live in Philly, so the Rizley's were good to have a little get-together with everyone at their house.

As you might have guessed from the title of my post... after a little catching up, someone busted out the video game Rock Band. For those of you less cool people (like me) who had never experienced this before, this is a game that involves two guitars, a microphone, a drum set and un-musically-gifted people attempting to play an instrument, keep a tempo and sing on key. Yeah, it can get ugly. Don't let that scare you off though - the game is pretty fun.

The boys ended up challenging the girls to a duel and, naturally, ...the girls kicked their booties. Ok, not really, but we tried!

Andy, Andrew (code name: "Buzz"), Craig, Haze and Mable
The twins, Tommy and Colin, are in front

The girls kickin' bootie: Beth, Heidi, Nat and me

The drums were my favorite and everyone was nice and let me hog them. Way too much fun. Thanks so much for hanging out! We love you guys!!!
