Baby update

Isaac's first birthday is just around the corner and his synapses are really firing! He's ever so curious and loves figuring out how things work.

Here's a quick snap shot of a day in the life...

Figuring out how to put the lid on the pot.

Next, figure out what life is like UNDER the chair.

Then remove fake pasta from plastic pasta box and practice opening and closing the lid.

Some recent milestones:

- masterfully opening and closing doors
- heartily laughing along when others laugh
- waving "hello" and "bye-bye"
- standing all by himself while engrossed in a toy without realizing he isn't holding on to anything
- using baby sign language for words like "dog" and "eat"

He's still a happy little camper and loves life.

And bathtime.
He's our little buddy and it's so fun watching him grow!

The Hawleys Come to Town

Chris and Nik came and visited us!!! They were in town (well in state anyway) seeing their Grandma and took time out to chill with us. It was like -- Philly life, meet Prescott Valley life. The two worlds collide!

Here they are in their full glory. Don't let their disguises fool you... it's them!

We had a grand old time -- late night dip at the pool, early morning water aerobics using milk jugs as flotation devices, mountain biking from town to Watson Lake, hiking around Lynx Lake, more "man" hiking with Craig, In N' Out Burger, some good movie watching, meteor shower gazing, backyard bonfiring, truck washing, litle bit of classics reading, 'smore eating, lots and lots of ice cream eating and even more Settlers of Catan playing.

The boys also kept the house ringing with happy music.

Pictured below: Nik, at the piano. Isaac, backing him up.

Need a little help with the low notes? Don't worry, Nik, I'm all over it.

In short, it was a much needed dose of Hawley-ness. And boy are we sad not to be around all the Hawleys more. Please, oh please, won't you move to Arizona? Cherry on top???

Movin' and groovin'

It appears that the "stach" is contagious

Despite my strong objections to Craig's new, very full and very bushy mustache, it seems to have rubbed off on others.

Baby Isaac, for example. Who knew a child of such youth could grow facial hair of such....... well, health and thickness.

And then when the Tom Selleck look wasn't enough, he went for the Adolf Hitler type.

Then Amanda caught the bug. She wears it more like a Charlie Chaplin though, don't you think?

Then I tried it on for size. Isaac's not so sure about getting a kiss from me.
The fun didn't stop there. The stache then morphed into a uni-brow.

And finally, the stach became a beard. And that was the end of that!

CREDITS
I'd like to make a special shout out to my sister Amanda for providing the facial hair.
And also to the Basha's in Flagstaff for providing all of the fun at a reasonable rate of 50 cents a piece.
And one last thanks to all my friends out there who would have talked my husband out of that ridiculous mustache if he had actually grown it (which is something he absolutely would do!)

Please tell my husband what's up...

His new thing is having a mustache...

He says people dig it; I say it isn't befitting of a dentist.

He says his patients love it; I say his family hates it.

PLEASE tell him what you think. He told me that if the majority dislike it he'll shave it. I need your help!!!!!

Scott's 40th

We headed up to Flagstaff for Scott's 40th birthday bash.

Can't believe my cousin is that OLD!!! He's still looking good though and is healthy as a horse. No worries. :)
The shin-dig was at "The Joint" - nuf said

Little Man loves cousin Krissy
Isaac's first (and hopefully last!) time at a bar!

Good to see all the family and friends. Thanks, Jody!
