Baby's First 4-Wheeling

As you all know, Isaac is very much his father's son. When I bring Isaac into Craig's work, they all call him "Mini" as in "Mini-Me." And I assure you that their similarities stretch further than looks alone.

Like Craig, the boy likes tinkering with things and figuring them out. He likes dogs. He likes trucks. He loves 4-WHEELING! Don't believe me? Take a look at this face!

Poor Roxy, the captive audience.

Anyway, back to my 4-wheeling story. We're fortunate to live near cousins in our new place. My cousin, Zeke, and his wife, Bri, are awesome. Zeke was kind enough to take us out and show us some good Prescott soil. We dusted off the 4-Runner, reminded it of it's great 4-wheeling potential (and destiny, let's be honest), then headed off to the forest!

Unfortunately, my camera battery died within the first 5 minutes of real truckin', but I did get some shots of Zeke in his truck. And this is just the way to get ON to the dirt road we were going to play on.

Oh the joy of dirt and wind in your hair and summer. And now for the casualty roll call:

While going off-road up a mountain slope, we caught a stump underneath us and while trying to dislodge ourselves, our truck slid a little and the front left corner slid into a tree. Hence, our last undented corner of the 4-Runner earned it's dent. It was bound to happen sometime.

Zeke's truck came home wounded too. Somehow, being the crazy 4-wheeler that he is, he was going down the dirt road, climbing all the rocks along the side of the road, and a tree jumped out and tore his front bumper almost all the way off. It flapped in the wind all the way home.

Good times. Brought back a lot of memories from Craig and my first date 4-wheeling near Sunflower.

Yee-Haw! Hold on little Isaac! What a blast. I'm glad you guys aren't afraid to tear it up. You'll have to let us hang on the the roof the next time you go! Thanks for watching the kids today. You rock!
